  • 1 cup thick quality rice (dhokla, idli or dosa rice)
  • 1 cup mix dals (chana dal, tur dal, moong dal, urad dal)
  • 0.5 cup grated bottle gourd
  • 1 small onion, cut
  • 2 green chillies
  • small piece of ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda (soda-bi-carb)
  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds, roasted
  • salt(optional)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • curry leaves
  • 0.25 teaspoon red chili powder (for tempering)
  • curd
  • green chutney with garlic

Instructions
