- 6 tablespoons Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 3 whole Eggs, whites and yolks separated
- 3 large Bananas
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 9-inch Baked Pastry Shell
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 3 tablespoons Cornstarch
- 3/4 cups Sugar

Step 1
Combine 6 tablespoons sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan; gradually stir in milk.

Cook and stir the mixture over medium heat until it becomes bubbly.

Continue to cook and stir for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Temper the egg yolks by stirring a small amount of the hot mixture into them; immediately return the tempered yolks to the hot mixture. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Slice bananas and arrange them in the bottom of the baked pastry shell. Pour the cream mixture over the bananas.
