  • 1 quart vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 pounds chicken

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, paprika, and pepper.

Dip each piece of chicken first in the buttermilk, ensuring it's fully coated, then transfer to the flour mixture, pressing to coat thoroughly.

30 to 35 minutes

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or deep skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil. Cook until the chicken is browned on all sides. Reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking for an additional 30 to 35 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is done (internal temperature reaches approximately 150-155 degrees F).
