  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 8 fresh peaches, cut in halves with pits removed
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar

In a bowl, mix brown sugar and granulated sugar together.

In another mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add 1 tablespoon of the mixed sugars and the butter. Mix until crumbly.

Press this crumbly mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 13x9 inch pan to form the crust.

Arrange the peach halves evenly over the crust.

Add cinnamon to the remaining mixed sugars and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the peaches.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Bake for 15 minutes.

While the kuchen bakes, mix the beaten egg yolks and sour cream together in a small bowl.

30 minutes

After 15 minutes, remove the kuchen from the oven, pour the egg yolk and sour cream mixture over the peaches, and return to the 400 degree oven to bake for about 30 minutes more.
