Ingredients

  • 1 Large Onion (diced)
  • 8 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 4 cup Chicken Stock
  • 4 cup Beef Stock
  • 8 Slices French Bread (1 inch thick)
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Johnny's Garlic Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • Pepper(optional)
  • Corn Starch(optional)

Instructions

1

Step 1

20 minutes

In a soup pot, melt 4 tablespoons of the butter with the oil. Sauté the diced onions until just slightly caramelized.

2

Step 2

15 minutes

When the onions are tender and a golden rich color, add in the chicken stock, beef stock, pepper, Montreal steak seasoning, and 1 ½ tablespoons of the Johnny's garlic seasoning. Simmer the soup.

3

Step 3

Meanwhile, use the remaining butter and Johnny's garlic seasoning to turn your French bread into garlic bread. Place the garlic bread onto a baking sheet and cook in a 350 degree oven just until the butter mixture has melted.

4

Step 4

Once the garlic bread is ready, remove the tray from the oven and turn the oven to broil. Top each slice of bread with shredded mozzarella cheese and shredded Colby & Monterey Jack cheese.

5

Step 5

Return the baking sheet to the oven and broil until the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly. Serve the soup hot with a cheese-topped bread slice.
