  • 2 pounds beef tenderloin
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Cut the beef into 2 1/2-inch squares and then into slices against the grain. Mix the garlic with the soy sauce, sugar, and salt and pour it over the meat. Let the mixture marinate.

1 1/2 minutes on one side and 1 minute on the other

Place the beef in a pan under a medium broiler. Broil for 1 1/2 minutes on one side and 1 minute on the other. Arrange on a shallow platter and serve at once.
