  • 1/2 cup Dry white wine
  • 1 head Garlic, separated into cloves
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons Dried rubbed sage
  • 2 Boneless chicken breast halves, skin intact
  • Salt(optional)
  • Pepper(optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Sprinkle chicken with sage, salt, and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a medium ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sauté until brown, about 3 minutes per side. Meanwhile, boil garlic cloves in a small saucepan of water for 2 minutes; drain, rinse under cold water to cool, and peel the cloves. Arrange peeled garlic cloves around the chicken in the skillet. Pour dry white wine over the chicken and garlic. Cover the skillet and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Uncover and baste chicken with the pan juices. Continue to bake chicken uncovered until cooked through.

Boil pan juices over high heat until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.

Season the thickened pan juices to taste with salt and pepper. Spoon the garlic sauce over the chicken.
