- 0.5 loaf French Bread (1 lb.)
- 2 tablespoons Grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup Crumbled blue cheese
- 1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened (1/2 stick)
- 1/2 cup shredded pepper Jack cheese(optional)
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh herbs(optional)
- 1/2 teaspoons dried herbs(optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice(optional)
- dash salt(optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Mix margarine and cheeses.
Step 2
Cut bread horizontally in half.
Step 3
Spread one cut side with cheese mixture. Top with remaining bread half.
Step 4
Wrap in heavy-duty aluminum foil.
Step 5
Grill bread 5 to 6 inches from medium coals for about 6 minutes, turning once, until hot.
Step 6
For Grilled Pepper Cheese Slices variation: Omit Parmesan cheese. Substitute 1/2 cup shredded pepper Jack cheese for the blue cheese. Mix margarine and cheese.

For Grilled Herb-Lemon Cheese Slices variation: Omit blue cheese and Parmesan cheese.
Step 8
For the Herb-Lemon variation: Mix margarine, 2 tsp. chopped fresh herbs or 1/2 tsp. dried herbs, 1 tsp. lemon juice and dash of salt.
