Place the fresh honeysuckle petals in a large pot. Pour the boiling water over the petals and let infuse for 12 hours.

Carefully decant the liquid to separate it from any sediment. Measure the weight of this decanted liquid using a kitchen scale.

In a saucepan, add sugar to the liquid, ensuring the amount of sugar is twice the measured weight of the liquid. Heat the mixture, stirring until the sugar dissolves, and cook until it forms a syrup.
