  • 1.0 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
  • 2.0 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
  • 1.0 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1.0 tablespoon salt
  • 2.0 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 8.0 cup water
  • 2.0 ounce can tomato paste
  • 2.0 ounce can diced tomatoes undrained
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 4.0 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2.0 small onions chopped

Step 1

10 minutes, then 2 hours

Sauté onion and garlic in hot oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat for 10 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in diced tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring often, for 2 hours.

Divide into recipe portions and freeze.
