- 1.0 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
- 2.0 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
- 1.0 tablespoon dried basil
- 1.0 tablespoon salt
- 2.0 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 0.25 cup sugar
- 8.0 cup water
- 2.0 ounce can tomato paste
- 2.0 ounce can diced tomatoes undrained
- 0.25 cup vegetable oil
- 4.0 cloves garlic chopped
- 2.0 small onions chopped

10 minutes, then 2 hours
Sauté onion and garlic in hot oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat for 10 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in diced tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring often, for 2 hours.
