  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pound flour
  • 1 pound sugar
  • 4 count eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 pound butter

Cream the sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl.

Add the eggs, vanilla, and evaporated milk to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Sift the baking powder and flour together into the wet ingredients.

Mix all ingredients together well until fully combined and the batter is smooth.

Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan.

Bake in a moderate oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
