- 1.0 kilogram Minced Meat
- 1.0 cup Oil
- 0.5 cup beaten Yoghurt
- 3.0 medium-sized chopped Onion
- 1.0 medium-sized crushed Garlic
- 2.0 inch crushed Ginger piece
- Fresh Coriander leaves(optional)
- Salt
- Chilli powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Haldi
- 1.0 teaspoon Garam masala
- 2.0 teaspoon crushed Poppy seed
- 1.0 teaspoon Cumin seed powder
- 1.0 teaspoon Coriander powder
Instructions
Step 1
Mix together all spices and make two portions.
Step 2
Fry onion in oil until golden brown.
Step 3
Separate fried onion from oil, cool, and grind.
Step 4
Now add 1/2 quantity of ground onion, 1/2 quantity of spices, and 1/2 quantity of yoghurt to the minced meat and knead well.
Step 5
Make small kofta-like balls from this kneaded minced meat and keep aside.
Step 6
Now add remaining ground onion, yoghurt, spices, garlic, and ginger to the oil and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Step 7
Add 2 glasses of water and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes. Then slowly introduce the meat balls (kofta) and continue cooking on low flame until the meat is tender and the gravy thickens (45-60 minutes).
Step 8
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Step 9
Serve with Naan/Roti and salad.
