- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1.25 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 cups Bisquick
- 2 tablespoons dry onion flakes(optional)
- 1/3 cup grated cheese(optional)
- 2 tablespoons caraway seeds(optional)
- 1 teaspoon sage(optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg(optional)
Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water.
Step 2
Add the sugar and 1/2 of the Bisquick. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.
Step 3
Add the remaining Bisquick and your choice of dry onion flakes, grated cheese, or caraway seeds, sage, and nutmeg. Blend with a spoon until smooth.
Step 4
Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
Step 5
Stir the dough down by beating 25 strokes.
Step 6
Drop the sticky dough by spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet, making 12 mounds 2 inches apart.
Step 7
Flatten the tops of the mounds with floured fingers into rounds about 1/2 inch thick.
Step 8
Let the buns rise again.
