  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1.25 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 cups Bisquick
  • 2 tablespoons dry onion flakes(optional)
  • 1/3 cup grated cheese(optional)
  • 2 tablespoons caraway seeds(optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sage(optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg(optional)

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water.

Add the sugar and 1/2 of the Bisquick. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed.

Add the remaining Bisquick and your choice of dry onion flakes, grated cheese, or caraway seeds, sage, and nutmeg. Blend with a spoon until smooth.

30 minutes

Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.

Stir the dough down by beating 25 strokes.

Drop the sticky dough by spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet, making 12 mounds 2 inches apart.

Flatten the tops of the mounds with floured fingers into rounds about 1/2 inch thick.

Let the buns rise again.
