- 1/2 cup Bisquick
- 1 cup Bisquick
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- cup sugar
- 8 tart apples, peeled, sliced
- teaspoon ground cinnamon
- teaspoon ground allspice
- teaspoon ground nutmeg
- cup milk
- 2 tablespoons soft butter or margarine
Instructions
Step 1
Toss 8 tart apples, peeled and sliced, with ground cinnamon, ground allspice, and ground nutmeg in a large bowl. Place the seasoned apples in a large (4- to 6-quart) greased crockpot. In a separate bowl, combine milk, 2 tablespoons soft butter or margarine, sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup Bisquick. Spoon this mixture over the apples in the crockpot.
Step 2
In another bowl, combine 1 cup Bisquick and brown sugar. Cut in 3 tablespoons cold butter or margarine until crumbly. Add sliced nuts to form the streusel topping. Sprinkle the streusel topping over the apples in the crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or until the apples are tender. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
