Fattet Hummus


2 cups of already soaked and boiled chickpeas, until tender. You may use two cans of chickp
2 cups chickpeas boiled water
1 cup yogurt
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup Tehini
1 clove of crushed garlic- you may use more according to your taste. You may used hot chill pepper if you
Fried Pine nuts or Almonds for garnish. You may use finely cut


Bake the pita bread chips until golden in color. Place in a deep dish You can still fry the bread in oil until golden brown but this will make your recipe higher in calories and fat.
To make the sauce, add yogurt, Tahini, Lemon juice, Salt, Garlic and the Hot chili peppers if you are using them. Mix to a smooth finish. You do not need an electric mixer for this step, a whisk or a fork would do
Heat up the chickpeas with the water until boiling
To assemble:
Put the bread chips in a deep dish
Pour half of the amount of the Tahini and yogurt sauce , mix well
Add two cups of chickpeas with some of the water, add the rest of the Tahini sauce and mix well
Smooth up the top. Garnish with chopped parsley and / or fried pine nuts or fried almonds with the oil that was used for frying




Fatteh is a recipe that has toasted or fried pita bread pieces with one type of broth, could be chicken broth or the liquid from boiling chickpeas.
There are many variations for this Fatteh recipe. During the holy month of Ramadan, many types of Fatteh are prepared such as Chicken Fatteh, Makdoos Fatteh which the main ingredient fried eggplants, also Eggplant Fatteh to name few that are made in the Arabic and Middle Eastern Kitchen . I like this variation, it tastes smooth and full of flavor also it is so easy to prepare.
