  • 0.5 packet Goodman's onion soup mix
  • 1.5 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3.0 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • 2.0 tablespoons mayonnaise or olive oil

Step 1

Mix the onion soup mix, ketchup, apricot preserves, and mayonnaise or olive oil together in a bowl. Rub some of this mixture all over the turkey roast, then coat the rest of it on top.

35-40 minutes

Roast the turkey uncovered for 35-40 minutes until it is golden and slightly charred.

1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes

Add 1 cup of water to the roaster. Reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and cover the roaster. Continue to roast for 1 hour. For a more well-done turkey, roast for an additional 30 minutes (total 1 hour and 30 minutes covered).

until cool

Let the turkey rest after cooking until cool, then slice it. Pour the pan juices on top or serve them on the side.
