  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 unit shredded carrot
  • 1.5 quart shredded cabbage
  • 2 unit large onions, sliced thin
  • dried parsley(optional)

Instructions

Step 1

Combine sugar, vinegar, salt, celery salt, dry mustard, and pepper in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Remove the saucepan from heat.

Add the salad oil to the hot mixture. Drip the hot mixture over the shredded cabbage, carrot, and sliced onions. Do not stir.

24 hours

Cover the salad and refrigerate for 24 hours.
