- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups hot water
- 1 quart milk
- 3 packages dry yeast
- 10 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- melted butter
- sugar and cinnamon mixture
Instructions
Step 1
Combine Crisco, 2 tablespoons salt, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups hot water, and 1 quart milk. Cool this mixture until it is lukewarm.
Step 2
Add 3 packages dry yeast, 10 cups flour, 3 teaspoons sugar, and 1 cup warm water to the lukewarm mixture.
Step 3
Knead the dough well just until it is not sticky. Let the dough rise until double in size, about 2 hours.
Step 4
Make the dough into buns; place them on greased baking sheets. Let stand about 10 minutes, then press them down flat. Let them rise until double in size. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Step 5
To make sticky rolls, take small pieces of the same dough. Roll each piece like a wiener. Dip in melted butter, then in a sugar and cinnamon mixture. Tie into a knot.
