- 2.5 teaspoons bread machine yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened (for dough)
- 1 recipe filling
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened (for spreading)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
Step 1
Measure all dough ingredients (2.5 teaspoons bread machine yeast, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and 2 tablespoons softened margarine or butter). Place them into the bread machine in the order specified by your machine's directions. Select the Dough cycle.
Step 2
While the dough is preparing, prepare the filling. Also, grease a 9x9x2 inch square pan.

Once the dough cycle is complete, flatten the dough with your hands or a rolling pin into a 9-inch square on a lightly floured surface.

Spread the dough with the remaining 2 tablespoons of softened margarine or butter, then sprinkle with the prepared filling.

Roll the dough up tightly. Pinch the edge of the dough into the roll to seal it.

Cut the roll into 1-inch slices. Place the slices in the greased pan.

Cover the pan and let the rolls rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 1/4 hours, or until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 375 F.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove the baked cinnamon rolls from the pan and transfer them to a wire rack to cool slightly.

Prepare the vanilla glaze: In a small bowl, combine 1 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 to 2 tablespoons milk. Mix until smooth and thin enough to drizzle.
