Red wine glasses are specifically for drinking, tasting and smelling red wine. They had a rounder, wider bowl, which allows the wine to oxidize faster and subtly changes the character. Glasses for Bordeaux direct the flow of wine to the back of the mouth, while glasses intended for Burgandy direct the wine to the tongue.
