Every time we shop at the Asian grocery store the kids always nag at me for a drink. There’s something about the bright packaging and weird shaped cartons that seems to make them want it more than the standard orange juice seen elsewhere.

I wish I liked coffee. I can’t even count the number of coffee drink recipes out there that I am tempted by. But I just can’t get over the coffee flavor.

While on vacation in August, for some reason, someone in Mr.Surly's family got a craving for a Bloody Mary. No one really knew how to make a bloody mary, so Mr.Surly's sister, an aspiring NYC bartender, took charge of the task.

t was love at first sip. Yep, that is what I would say when I tasted iced tea at Dunkin Donuts for the first time, few years ago. Throughout my masters days in Syracuse , I would drink atleast a tall-sized fresh iced tea, with an order of toasted everything bagel w/ cream cheese & hash browns on the side, every single day! It was much later I realised how good it is to regularly drink a cuppa of green tea.

I admit, I didn’t have a specific recipe in mind for how to use my vanilla-maple almond milk when I first whipped out the blender and cheesecloth. It was more of whim kitchen experiment that ended with success, even if I did get nut pulp everywhere.

Slept in late, and had a nice yoga session upon waking up. I’m still feeling that hike from the other day, so it was nice to stretch so much.

The Sazerac is rumored to be the very first cocktail ever created. Though this may not really be true, it makes for a nice story anyway.

Drinking tea is of course a Great British tradition, and nothing is more lovely than an afternoon spent basking in the sunlight enjoying gorgeous cream tea with a close friend. Well it’s with this in mind that today’s T&T is aiming to capture that loveliness with a Sweet Tea Cocktail to accompany scrummy Cream Tea Canapes

In truth, I have been feeling off-it for about three weeks now - supposedly stomach flu but it is taking its sweet, sweet time to go. Not a great situation for a food blogger.

For inspiration, co-owner Eyal Raziel looked to his native Israel, where honey liqueur is popular. "The Bärenjäger balances the kick of the rye," he says.

Summer is coming to a close soon, but I wanted to share my new favorite summer drink...HOMEMADE RASPBERRY LEMONADE! This recipe includes raspberries, but I have also added strawberries; other fruits would work well in here also. It is so easy to make and I would recommend it to all of you. And of course; homemade is always better!

Now, I don’t know whether I had really gained that much, as I refused to step on the scale to find out. All I know is I’d *ahem* let loose while I was there and my body had suffered the consequences. Big time. One can’t go having Pina Coladas and Mojitos, and Margaritas, and Cappuccinos and tons of sweet cakes and cookies every day without paying some kind of price.

So to kick-start fall (even though I totally had a pumpkin scone in June... and already posted pumpkin churros), I made this pumpkin spice syrup.

I used this smoothie as a recovery meal after my 6-mile run the other day, and it kept me full for hours. It’s simple, surprisingly low in sugar and calories, and amped up in protein. It’s really the perfect recovery or replacement meal smoothie.

This month I am in the transition of moving from the midwest to the northeast US. It is over 2000 miles of travel to relocate. The process is tedious at best, but for a foodie it is even more nerve-racking.

It’s a delicious twist on the classic lemonade you know and love and a great drink to end the season of fun in the sun. So, here is a recipe to make a pitcher for you and your kids and enjoy the last bit of summer.

In the past week I’ve been to more parties, taken in more sunsets, and attended more family dinners than most people do in a year. Okay, I’m exaggerating, but only just a little.

Have you ever tried Starbucks' Apple Chai Infusion that they sell in the fall & winter? I fell in love with it last winter and it's still one of my favorite drinks! (Here's a tip: It's not on the menu, but they can make it year-round if you ask for it!)

Still riding the high of my recent LET’S-MAKE-EVERYTHING-FROM-SCRATCH! revelation I decided it was time for a little home alchemy thanks to a friend who, in exchange for my photographic services, presented me with a rather large bottle of vodka. Lovely.

Ok, perhaps the last two pumpkin treats were slightly premature considering it was still almost 80 degrees outside. But yesterday, it was a crisp and sunny 65. I wore jeans and grabbed a fleece in the late afternoon when the sun went down. Sounds like pumpkin weather to me!

I was recently invited by Rob Masters, Distiller at Boulder Distillery and owner of Rob’s Mountain Gin to attend a monthly event that is held for folks in the hospitality and liquor industry in the Denver to Boulder corridor.

This simple and tasty chocolate milkshake is a great one to get the kids involved in, they will enjoy drizzling the sauce, making the mess and watching the colours change yet most of all they will enjoy

I’m fully aware that it’s not summer, but when it’s 80 degrees and strawberries are still front and center at Whole Foods, I’m left with no choice. It’s popsicles, ice coffee and these, Riesling strawberry slushies.

Looking for a delicious and refreshing cocktail for your college football or NFL tailgate this weekend? Maybe you need a drink to make to make while watching your team play on TV. Well look no further than this John Daly.

I love caramel apples... I know that fall has truly arrived when I start to see them covered with chopped nuts and cased in plastic containers in the produce isle at the grocery store.

As summer comes to a close, I could not miss celebrating a Thursday "Ladies Night" without a watermelon martini. The Watermelon Martini is a refreshing, summery sweet drink. I love it and am so excited to share it with you. Well happy Thursday and welcome to "Ladies Night".

Ok, if you live in Los Angeles or basically almost anywhere in the US, you know it's hot, hot, hot here right now. I saw the temp hit 103 degrees today... Now if you live in Las Vegas I'm sure you think I'm a total wimp right now, but it's hot!

The season seems to be turning now with the occasional nip in the air and the trees and hedgerows are laden with autumn fruit. This drink is most definitely an autumn delight which is packed with vitamin C to help fight off the colds that are so often rife as this time of year.

Aren't we always looking for a fun, delicious, SIMPLE cocktail we can serve via a pitcher?!

In Alabama, cold drinks are mandatory near the close of each work day…or maybe I should say just somewhere around 3 pm, when the day is at its hottest and humidest (and this is what humidity does to your brain in Alabama).
