- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup White wine
- 4 whole Peppercorns
- 6 whole Cloves
- 2 tablespoons Unsweetened frozen apple juice concentrate
- 1 1/2 cups Unsweetened apple juice
- 4 large Navel oranges
Instructions
Step 1
Using a sharp knife, remove the peel and pith from the oranges; set them aside. In a large pot, combine the unsweetened apple juice, apple juice concentrate, white wine, whole cloves, whole peppercorns, and cinnamon stick.
Step 2
Over medium heat, bring the liquid to a boil. Gently add the prepared oranges. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, basting often. Using a slotted spoon, gently remove the oranges to individual dishes.
Step 3
Increase the heat to high and cook the poaching liquid, uncovered, until it is reduced by half, approximately 15 minutes. Strain the reduced liquid and evenly pour it over the oranges.
