- 1 whole chicken breast (cooked and shredded)
- 5 chunks dark chocolate (Xocai Healthy Chocolate Nuggets, chopped)
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 12 sheets wonton wrappers
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds (toasted)
Instructions
Step 1
In a small bowl, beat together the egg and water to create an egg wash.
Step 2
In a separate mixing bowl, combine the chopped almonds (reserving 1 tablespoon for garnish), chopped dark chocolate nuggets, shredded chicken, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create the filling.
Step 3
Lay out the wonton wrappers. Place a small scoop of the prepared filling in the center of each wrapper.

Lightly brush the edges of each wonton wrapper with the egg wash. Bring the sides of the wrapper together and pinch firmly at the top to seal.

Heat cooking oil in a deep pot or skillet until hot. Carefully drop the filled wontons into the hot oil.

Fry the wontons, turning them to brown evenly on all sides. Frying should be quick.

Remove the fried wontons from the oil and drain them on a plate lined with paper towels.

Sprinkle the fried wontons with the reserved 1 tablespoon of chopped almonds before serving.
