Valentine’s Day Love

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups Water
cup Oil
3/4 cup Powder Sugar
3 ounces 1- Unsweetened Chocolate Squares (melted)
1 1/2 tablespoons Butter Flavored Shortening
1/4 cup Half& Half

Preparation

Make the cake according to box instructions for a 13x9, after you put the batter into the cake pan, dropping 1 drop of food coloring 3 down the width of the cake and 4 across the length of the cake. Using a toothpick swirl the coloring into the batter. Bake per the instructions on the box. When the cake is done, cool it completely. At this point, you can either take the cake out of the baking dish or cut into any shapes you would like or you can leave the cake in the baking dish and frost it. Since it is Valentine’s Day, I chose to use my heart shaped cutters to cut the cake. Once the shapes are cut and ready for frosting make the below recipe. If you don’

Place the marshmallow cream, 2/3 of the powder sugar, melted chocolate, shortening and half of the half & half into a mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Alternate the remaining sugar and cream until desired thickness. Once completely smooth and ready to use, frost your cake. If you decided to cut the cake out into shapes then as I did frost each cake cut out and stack on top of each other in the center of your serving plate.
