Tortilla Chips

Ingredients

10 Corn Tortillas
2 cups Corn Oil
Salt to taste

Preparation

Cut tortilla rounds into triangles, approximately six per

Heat oil in a deep frying pan until it just begins to smoke and reduce heat a bit.

Add tortilla triangles to the oil, starting away from your body

Cook until golden brown and drain on paper towels.

Salt to taste while hot

About

Called Totopos in Mexico, tortilla chips are one of the all time great snack foods. Great by themselves or with various dips and salsas, they are the base layer of nachos. Try sprinkling with powdered chili and lime.
