Ingredients
- 0.5 kilograms rice
- 300.0 grams jaggery
- 2.0 cups oil, for frying
Instructions
Step 1
Soak rice in water for 30 minutes. Then, spread the rice on a large cloth or newspaper for another 30 minutes until it is almost dry. Grind the almost dry rice in a mixer.
Step 2
Dissolve jaggery in as little water as possible and mix well. Heat this mixture until the jaggery syrup becomes thick like a paste.
Step 3
Combine the jaggery syrup with the powdered rice and mix well to make a dough. Cover the dough and leave it to rest for about 8 hours.
Step 4
Heat 2 cups of oil in a deep frying pan. Take a portion of the dough, form it into a ball on a plastic sheet, and flatten it by hand. Fry the flattened dough in the hot oil until it becomes golden brown on both sides.
