- canola oil for deep frying
- 2 teaspoons chopped parsley
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoons red pepper
- 1 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 tablespoons sugar
- 2 1/2 cups cornmeal
- 1 1/2 cups flour

Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add onion, milk, eggs and parsley and blend well.

Refrigerate until ready to use.

Heat oil. Spoon batter into oil, frying until golden brown.
