  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh chives(optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill(optional)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped cucumber
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives(optional)
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 fillets salmon (about 1 lb total)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

Instructions

Step 1

30 minutes to 24 hours

Soak two 12x7 inch (30x18 cm) untreated cedar planks in water.

Place salmon fillets on top of each plank.

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, grated lemon rind, lemon juice, chives, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Brush some of this mixture over the salmon.

20 minutes or until fish flakes easily

Place the cedar planks with salmon on a grill over medium-high heat. Close the lid and cook, brushing with the remaining lemon mixture.

Meanwhile, in a separate small bowl, combine sour cream, finely chopped cucumber, dill, chives, salt, and pepper to make the dill sauce.

Serve the salmon on the cedar planks on a platter with the dill sauce.
