  • 1 box cake mix (Devil's food)
  • 1/3 block cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Kahlua(optional)
  • 6 ounce chocolate candy coating
  • 22 skewers (cut in half)

Instructions

Prepare the boxed cake according to package instructions.

Allow the cake to cool completely.

Scoop the cooled cake into a mixing bowl and mix until broken into fine crumbs.

Add the cream cheese and mix thoroughly until well combined.

If using, add Kahlua and mix well.

Scoop the mixture and roll into approximately 22 even balls.

Melt the chocolate candy coating.

Dip one end of a skewer (stick) into the melted coating and press into each cake ball.

Place the cake balls in a flat dish and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Rewarm the coating if necessary, then dip each cake pop, coating as desired (e.g., halfway or completely).

Immediately after dipping, place each pop onto a tray to cool. Note that the candy coating may pool slightly at the base.

Chill for an additional 30 minutes, or until the coating is crisp.
