Ingredients

1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup Lard
3/4 cup buttermilk or sour milk

Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients.

Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add buttermilk; stir just until the dough clings together on a lightly floured board, knead dough gently about 10 to 12 strokes.

Roll to 1/2" thickness.

Cut with a 2" round biscuit cutter.

Place on a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 450 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
