Cinnamon Pinwheel Scones

Ingredients

6 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
50 grams butter
1 cup milk
Topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

Collect all equipment and ingredients before starting to cook.

Preheat oven to 220°C.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

Cut or rub in butter into flour mixture until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.

Add milk and mix quickly to a soft dough with a knife.

Lightly knead the dough.

Roll out dough into a rectangle 1 cm thick.

Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon and butter/margarine together.

Spread butter mix over the surface of the dough.

Starting from the long edge, roll the dough into a log.

Cut the log into 2 cm pieces

Place each scone, cut side up on the baking tray.

Bake for 10-12 minutes until the scones are cooked and golden brown.
