About

I recently made a white cake and saved the yolks from the eggs. I searched to find a recipe that used egg yolks and when I came across the Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars III recipe at allrecipes.com and couldn't resist giving it a try. Unlike most of the recipes on that site that I choose, it had a fairly small number of reviews, but it still have a 4.5/5 rating.

I found more powdered sugar was needed in the topping to get it to be crumbly.

My version of the recipe:

1/2 c. butter, melted
2 egg yolks
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. milk
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 oz. chocolate bark

Mix together butter, egg yolks, brown sugar and flour until mixture is crumbly. Press evenly into a 9" square pan. Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes and after removing from oven immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the crust. Return to oven for 2 more minutes and then remove from oven and spread melted chocolate chips into a layer over the crust.

Mix the butter, peanut butter, vanilla, milk and powdered sugar. Crumble the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate layer and press down lightly. Melt chocolate bark and drizzle over the peanut butter layer. Refrigerate until serving and keep refrigerated.
