Yield: 4 servings

[edit] Ingredients

8

ounces red radishes (large bunch)

1 ½

teaspoons rice vinegar

1

teaspoon sugar

½

teaspoon low-sodium soy sauce

1

teaspoon toasted sesame seeds more or less

radish leaves garnish

[edit] Preparation

Step 1

Wash the radishes well to remove all grit. Trim, reserving a few leaves for garnish, and thinly slice.

Step 2

Combine vinegar, sugar and soy and mix to dissolve sugar. Add the radishes. Refrigerate for 1 hour. When ready to serve, sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with radish leaves.

Step 3

Variation: Add half a cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced.

Step 4

Serving Ideas : Relish for Shabu Shabu (Japanese hot pot) or grilled fish or chicken.

Step 5
