California Roll

Ingredients

4 cups sushi rice
3/4 cup crab meat
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Wrap a bamboo rolling mat with plastic wrap.

Slice avocado flesh into strips. Combine crab, mayonnaise, and salt in a bowl.

Put a sheet of dried seaweed on top of the mat.

Spread sushi rice on top of the seaweed and press firmly. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the sushi rice.

Turn the sushi layer over so that the seaweed is on top.

Place avocado and crab lengthwise on the seaweed.

Roll the bamboo mat forward, pressing the ingredients inside into a cylinder-shaped sushi.

Press the length of the sushi firmly from all sides, then remove the rolled sushi.

Slice the sushi roll into bite-size pieces.

About

Dip your hands in cold water before you spread the rice onto the nori with your hands. This will help prevent rice from sticking to your hands.
