- cup Flour
- 1 tablespoon Powdered sugar
- teaspoon Salt
- teaspoon Baking powder
- 3 tablespoons Unsalted butter, cut in pieces
- 1 Egg yolk
- 3 tablespoons Cold water
Instructions
Step 1
Pulse together flour, powdered sugar, salt, and baking powder in the bowl of a food processor.
Step 2
With the processor running, add the unsalted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Step 3
Add the egg yolk and pulse 2-4 times. With the machine running, gradually add the cold water until the dough comes together.
Step 4
Remove the dough from the food processor, gather it into a ball, and flatten it into a disk.
Step 5
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
Step 6
On a lightly floured board, roll out the dough to a 10-inch circle.
Step 7
Ease the dough into a 7-inch tart pan with a removable bottom and remove any excess dough.
Step 8
Chill the tart crust for 1 hour.
