  • 1 cup rice
  • 0.5 cup green lentil (mungh daal)
  • 5.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons turmeric
  • 2 cloves cloves
  • clarified butter
  • yogurt

Mix rice and green lentil and soak for at least half hour.

Put them in pressure cooker with rest of ingredients, add 4 times water and set it on high heat.

On 1 whistle, reduce the heat to medium-low, keep for 10 min and then remove the cooker from stove.

Wait for pressure release and then serve with clarified butter.

Alternatively, cook in a microwave: cook for half hour on full heat setting, then cover the bowl and cook for 20 min on medium power settings.
