Ingredients

1 stick unsalted butter, at room temp
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon, for dusting

Preparation

1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2
In a large bowl, mash 2 ripened bananas.
3
Add butter, peanut butter, both sugars, egg, vanilla and stir.
4
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
5
Add dry ingredients to banana mixture and stir until combined (do not stir this to death!)
6
Add mini chocolate chips and briefly stir.
7
Drop by large spoonful onto parchment lined baking sheet.
8
In a small bowl, pour 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and stir. Sprinkle over unbaked cookies.
9
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden brown. My oven is hot, and only needs 10 minutes.

If I could marry a cookie, this would be her. I mean reel it in, chocolate and peanut butter AND banana....TOGETHER?!?!? Throw in a hummer and I'd call this paradise. True story.

GRRRRREAT recipe.

P.S.- If I can do it, it must be easy...even more props...good luck in the contest!

I served these at my Super Bowl party, and they were a huge hit. One of the parents at the party, tackled a 5 year old before he could eat the last one. Try these. Right now !! Right now. Oh they are good aren’t they.

OMG! Absolutely, positively, the best cookie you will ever eat! I barely had enough dough left to cook, cause I couldn't stop eating the dough. My husband had to stop me, and I am glad he did, because the end result was definetely worth waiting for. Rich, creamy, and moist, the best of all possible ingredients in one delicious cookie!

absolutely delicious. it took a lot of restraint not to devour all of the dough. now we know that peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip muffins, and banana bread combined equal magnificence. making them again soon! like tomorrow.

About

I've come to the conclusion that I buy bananas and purposely neglect them. Why? Because then I have no choice but to turn them into bread or muffins. However, on a particular day in January of Twenty-Ten, I looked at my neglected bananas and wanted cookies. And peanut butter. Chocolate. So I came up with my Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Banana Cookies. Don't you just love long titles?

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but okay fine I will. THEY ARE EXCELLENT! Ridiculous. The texture is a cross between cookie/cake/bread/muffin, if that makes sense. Salty peanut butter, a hint of cinnamon, the sweet crunch of chocolate, and of course the banana. My inspiration. Oh neglected bananas, thank you thank you!
