  • 1 cup dhaal
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 green chillies
  • 2 onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 4 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • a pinch turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons sambhar powder
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Heat the oil in the wok.

Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, and let them burst.

Add curry leaves to it.

Add tomatoes, which should be diced small.

Then add onions, cut small.

Then add turmeric powder and sambar powder.

Mix well.

Then add boiled toor dhaal.

Serve hot with steamed rice and mango pickles, or with chappathi.
