- 1 kilogram Chicken cubes
- 6 Capsicum
- 4 Onion
- 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil for marination
- 2 teaspoons Garlic crushed
- Fresh Parsley/Coriander(optional)
- Salt(optional)
- Paprika powder(optional)
- 4 teaspoons Sumac powder
- 2 teaspoons Allspice powder
- 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- Olive oil for frying(optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Cut capsicum and onion into 1-inch squares or chunks.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine Sumac powder, Allspice powder, Black pepper powder, Oregano, Green cardamom powder, Paprika powder (to taste), Salt (to taste), crushed garlic, tomato paste, lemon juice, and olive oil for marination to form a paste. Apply this mixture evenly to the chicken cubes.
Step 3
Let the chicken marinate for 2-3 hours.
Step 4
Thread the marinated chicken cubes, onion squares, and capsicum squares alternately onto pre-soaked wooden skewers.
Step 5
Grill the skewers over charcoal fire until the meat is tender and cooked through.
Step 6
Serve the Shish Taouk hot, optionally with fried rice, pita bread, and Toum (Lebanese Garlic Sauce).
Step 7
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or coriander before serving.
