  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Yeast
  • 2 cup Bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Water, plus 1 tablespoon
  • 2 tablespoon Clarified butter

Step 1

Add all ingredients to the dough machine and program for kneading and first rise.

When the dough is done, remove it from the machine and punch it down. Let it rest for 5 minutes.

20 minutes

Place a 13 x 9 x 1 inch baking pan on the bottom of the oven. Preheat the oven to 500°F. On a lightly floured work surface, cut the dough in half, then cut each half into four equal pieces. With a lightly floured rolling pin, roll each piece into a 1/4 inch thick free-form circle. Cover with a clean kitchen cloth and let rest for 20 minutes. Lightly sprinkle the tops with flour and roll out as thin as possible. Place 1 to 2 naans face down on the preheated baking pan. Bake for 60 seconds. Remove from oven, place on a large plate, and cover with a clean kitchen cloth.
