Banana Cake
Chocolate cream cheese frosting is pretty incredible with this cake. A 9x11 cake pan will make banana bars, instead of a tall cake.

- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 3 count mashed ripe bananas
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1.5 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 count egg
- 0.5 cup butter
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F. Dissolve 1 teaspoon baking soda in 2 tablespoons of milk and set aside.
Step 2
Cream butter and sugar in a medium mixing bowl.
Step 3
Add egg and baking soda/milk mixture to the mixing bowl.
Step 4
Add bananas and mix well. Add dry ingredients and vanilla essence.
Step 5
Pour batter into a greased square pan, cupcake or loaf pan.
Step 6
Bake in an 8-inch square pan in the oven at 350F (180C) for 25-30 minutes or until a knife or toothpick comes out dry. It may be necessary to cover the cake with foil halfway through to avoid over-browning.
Step 7
Ice with favorite icing.
