Microwave Beer Bread

This recipe is over a decade old so the timing would be based on older, lower wattage microwaves than most people use today. Experimentation will be needed for the correct setting if you have a spanking new microwave.

  • 0 cornflake crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon softened <a href="/food/3XTHR638/butter">butter</a>
  • 12 ounce <a href="/food/SNT2DHP5/beer">beer</a> (can be <a href="/food/D2LBLGMS/light-beer">light beer</a>)
  • 3 tablespoon <a href="/food/6H6G87VP/sugar">sugar</a>
  • 1 cup <a href="/food/4YMSSPXL/flour">flour</a>
  • 2 cup <a href="/food/LHXFYRQN/self-rising-flour">self-rising flour</a>

Instructions

Step 1

<a href="/technique/7S3QCKWK/mix">Mix</a> all ingredients in a <a href="/technique/7S3QCKWK/mixing">mixing</a> bowl. Spray a glass loaf pan with cooking spray or wipe with butter. Sprinkle bottom and sides with crumbs.

Pour batter into pan and <a href="/technique/R34ZSY3M/top">top</a> with butter and a light sprinkling of corn flake crumbs

<a href="/technique/7KR3LCHD/microwave">Microwave</a> at medium for 9 minutes, then on high for 2 minutes. Remove from pan and let <a href="/technique/GZFHJC5K/cool">cool</a> slightly.
