  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons firm margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup Bisquick reduced fat baking mix
  • 1/4 cup Bisquick reduced fat baking mix
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cup skim milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 cups tart apples, peeled and thinly sliced

Heat oven to 350F. Grease a 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Prepare the streusel mixture (combining brown sugar, firm margarine, and chopped nuts); reserve. Spread the tart apples in the greased dish.

In a blender, beat the remaining ingredients (Bisquick reduced fat baking mix, sugar, egg whites, softened margarine, skim milk, ground nutmeg, and ground cinnamon) on high speed for 15 seconds. Then, using a hand beater or wire whisk, beat for 1 minute or until the mixture is smooth. Pour this mixture over the apples in the dish. Sprinkle with the reserved streusel.

Bake for about 55 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool at least 10 minutes before serving.
