Step 1 |
Preheat oven to 450 F |
Step 2 |
Thoroughly wash and pat dry the kale |
Step 3 |
Remove the woody stem by folding over each leaf until the stem is exposed. Then run your knife along the stem. |
Step 4 |
Tear each leaf into bite-sized pieces |
Step 5 |
Arrange kale pieces on a baking sheet |
Step 6 |
Spray lightly with olive oil (or vegetable cooking spray) |
Step 7 |
Sprinkle with good quality salt, such as Kosher or sea salt. Add cayane, black pepper or paprika. |
Step 8 |
Bake in the oven for approximately 20 minutes or until crisp (watch closely so that they don't burn) |

This also works if you toss them in a frying pan for 5-10 min on medium heat. I've also added toasted cherry tomatoes and goat feta for a tasty warm salad.
