Tamarita

Ingredients

3 ounces Tequila
4 tablespoons Tamarind Pulp
2 tablespoons Sugar

Preparation

Combine Tequila, Tamarind, Sugar and Ice in a blender.

Start blender on lowest level and move through the speeds to the highest. Allow to blend until the ice is totally ground up and slushy.

Mix the kosher salt and chili powder on a plate. Wet the rim of two glasses and coat with the salt and chili mixture.

Pour the Tamarita mix into the glasses and serve.

About

Similar in taste to a regular margarita, all the fruit and sour flavor in this drink comes from the tamarind. Note: Be careful to use a tamarind pulp without any seeds in it. If your pulp has seeds, mix with a bit of water in a pot over a low heat until dissolved, then allow to cool and strain.
