Dark Chocolate Dipped Clementine Slices

Ingredients

3 Clementines
6 oz dark chocolate (chips or baking bar)
sea salt or glitter sugar for garnish (optional!)

Preparation

1
line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2
peel the clementines and separate into single slices.
3
melt the chocolate over a double burner or in a small sauce pot over very low heat on the stovetop. You can add a tbsp of coconut oil to help keep smooth if you like
4
once melted and smooth, carefully dip the end of each clementine slice into the chocolate and then lay on the parchment paper.
5
If you choose to garnish with sea salt or sugar, do this every few dips so they stick into the still warm chocolate.
6
Once all slices are complete, you can put in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until chocolate solidifies.
7
And your're ready to serve! These should be consumed within 1 day of making for peak freshness!

About

Just 4 more days until CHRISTMAS! So much to do and so little time left. Well, that is if you waited until the last minute to get that shopping, wrapping, and cooking done! I’m here to save you with a last minute treat recipe. Dark Chocolate Dipped Clementines require almost no effort and will look so sophisticated on your dessert spread. I’m continuing on with my easy Christmas “candy” posts in place of cookies. For those of us who don’t have the baking gene, or the time at this point, this one’s for you. Pull a few clementines out of their signature wooden bins (you know you’re stocked up on these by now!) and 1 chocolate baking bar or even just a 1/2 bag of dark chocolate chips and your set!I added a touch more to mine with bits of sea salt. It’s a big contrast in flavors so if you like that sea salt and chocolate intensity give it a shot. You can also try using some glitter sugar flakes if you want to go the sweet route. Or, just dip them in chocolate and call it a day! The rich chocolate flavor with that burst of citrus is still more than enough flavor to please the palate.
