  • salt and pepper(optional)
  • 1 handful fresh basil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 jar roasted red peppers packed in oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 cans garbanzo beans, drained
  • 2 tablespoons tahini

Instructions

Step 1

Pour the drained garbanzo beans, lemon juice, and tahini into a blender or large food processor.

Pulse until the mixture is broken up.

Add the jarred roasted red peppers and their oil, reserving 1 or 2 pepper pieces for garnish.

Add the minced garlic, fresh basil, salt, and pepper.

Blend until the hummus reaches the desired smooth consistency.

Pour the blended hummus into a serving vessel.

Finely chop the reserved roasted red pepper pieces and add them to the top of the hummus mixture.

Sprinkle finely chopped garlic over the hummus.
