Boil water in a pot, add salt and wheat spaghetti and cook till six to eight min.
Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and onion and saute. When the onion is soft add the basil. Now with the gas on high add the meat. Add the tomato puree. Fry for some time. Add salt and chilli powder at this point. Let it cook for 3 to 4 min then add the merlot.
Add 1/2 a cup of water from the pot of boiling spaghetti and add it to the meat sauce. Cook for another 5 min.
Check the spaghetti, if it is done, then plate up the spaghetti and pour spoon fulls of sauce on it. Grate cheese and throw in some more basil leaves.
I made a lot of sauce, I refrigerated the left over sauce and had it the next day with roti. (Indian flat bread)
