Pork With Spanish Rice

Ingredients

2 cups water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400°.

In a medium saucepan, bring water and instant rice to a boil. Cover and let stand about five minutes.

In the meantime, braise both sides of pork steaks in olive oil in skillet over medium heat until lightly browned. Set aside in baking dish.

Add onions and garlic to skillet and sauté until onions is softened. Add tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper, chili powder, black pepper and salt and bring to a light boil. Mix in rice until thoroughly combined.

Pour Spanish rice over pork steaks in baking dish. Bake uncovered for about 25 minutes or until pork is cooked all the way through.
