Ingredients
- 1 can 16 oz crushed tomatoes
- 1 whole garlic clove
- 1 whole onion
- sea salt(optional)
- black pepper(optional)
- 1 pound ground meat
- 2 cup cooked pasta
- 15 pieces pitted piccholino olives
- 1 cup chopped/cubed feta cheese chunks
Instructions
Step 1
Cover the garlic clove (cut side up) with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Bake at 350°F for about 20-25 minutes or until golden/caramel color.
Step 2
Heat a large pot on the stovetop and add approximately 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil.
Step 3
Squeeze the roasted garlic from the cloves into the large pot and caramelize slightly.
Step 4
Add three-quarters of the chopped onions and sauté for about 7 minutes on medium heat.
Step 5
Add the crushed tomatoes, let the sauce come to a lazy boil, and then simmer for a minimum of one hour.
Step 6
Add salt and black pepper and let the sauce simmer for another few minutes on low heat.
Step 7
Sauté the ground meat separately with the remaining onions in a separate pan. Once completely cooked, add the meat mixture to the tomato sauce. Let them cook together for about half an hour.
Step 8
Boil the pasta to your preferred consistency, following the directions on the box for well-cooked or al dente textures.
Step 9
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and turn off the heat. Let it sit for about ten minutes.
Step 10
Add the olives (chopped consistency is best) and feta cheese chunks.
Step 11
Serve and enjoy!
